Built-in Protection in Laptop PCs Improves Compliance with New Healthcare Rules

If a laptop is reported lost or stolen, IT can remotely delete data or instruct the system to lock itself down to prevent any OS from booting – from any boot device. If the laptop is off the network, information technology (IT) administrators can be confident of a lockdown – via a local timer that can expire and disable the machine if it doesn’t check in with the Absolute Software server in the specified time.
