The 82598 controller is designed for multi-core processors and implements advanced features for efficient routing of packets using multiple queues as well as including load balancing of interrupts using MSI-X. The controller also supports stateless offloads such as TCP segmentation offload, header replications/splitting, and Direct Cache Access (DCA) to lower CPU utilization.
